Services PRN Nursing Consultants

PRN Nursing Consultants provides a wide array of comprehensive health services to assist schools in their effort to keep students safe and ensure their well-being. All services are provided by experienced State Credentialed School Nurses and State Licensed Audiometrists. Our staff is: experienced and professional, advocates for students and schools, and resources for charter and private schools.

What We Do:

Health Assessments

for Special Education evaluations with follow-up and referrals as needed to local agencies and School Based Clinics.

VSP Vision Vouchers

Provide free VSP Vision Vouchers (valued at approximately $450) for students 5 years of age through 18 years of age that have a vision deficit and do not have Medi-Cal or vision insurance.

State Mandated Screenings

for: Vision (K, 2nd, 5th, 8th, 10th ), Color Vision (2nd grade boys), Scoliosis (7th grade girls and 8th grade boys), Audiometric (K, 2nd, 5th, 8th, 10th). Dental screening available upon request.

Health Office Forms

Vast array of forms used to communicate with doctors, parents and teachers that schools may add their letterhead; e.g. – protocols, medication, release of medical information and many more.

Growth and Development

Growth and Development classroom presentations for: 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th graders.

Coordinate Training

Coordinate training and provide Epipens and Narcan kits to charter staff.

Consultation and Training

Consultation and training of unlicensed personnel when appropriate for protocols and health care plans.

Health Record Review

Health Record Review for: Immunizations, CHDP, Student Health Alert List and Sports Physicals.

Classroom

Classroom screening and education presentation for pediculosis.

CPR and First Aide Training

Available for staff by American Red Cross and American Heart Association certificated personnel.

Care Management and Coordination

Staff in-services on health issues related to students such as: diabetic management plan; anaphylaxis and student specific EpiPen administration; asthma care and pulmonaide treatments, seizure care plan and Diastat administration.
